How to rotate a PDF

  1. Press “Select PDF file” and choose the PDF. Page previews appear.
  2. Press the rotate button on a page. Each press turns it 90° clockwise. Two presses flip it upside down, three equal 90° counter-clockwise.
  3. If every page lies the same way, press “Rotate all pages”.
  4. Press “Apply rotation”. The rotated PDF downloads.

How is this different from rotating the view?

The rotate command in most PDF viewers only turns the page on screen and forgets it when the file is closed. This tool saves the rotation in the file, so the recipient sees upright pages in any app or phone and it prints that way too.

Only the orientation value changes. Pages are not turned into pictures, so text stays selectable and searchable, and quality and file size stay practically the same.

When it helps

Use it for documents that came out of the office scanner sideways, PDFs made from phone photos where a few pages are upside down, or a landscape table inside a portrait report. The preview turns as soon as you press, so you can check the direction before saving.

Everything happens on your device, so scanned IDs and contracts can be fixed without uploading them.

When scan directions are mixed

Double-sided scanning often leaves only the even pages upside down. In that case do not use “Rotate all pages”. Press the rotate button twice on each upside-down page. If the whole document lies the same way, one press of “Rotate all pages” fixes it. If blank pages remain afterwards, clear them with Delete PDF pages.
